Featured Photographer : Victoria Lubach

I just wanted to take a moment to tell you guys about this awesome series that a fellow photographer, Victoria Lubach did this year. She is a an artist like myself with an interest  in live music photography as well as a verity of many different kinds of our medium. You can tell by the photos that she was greatly inspired by old paintings in not only their dress, but also in the soft painterly lighting styles. I just wanted to share them with you because I think that theirs a great sense of atmosphere that she was able to capture in all her subjects. Find more of her work here: Website Facebook Flickr

Bedscapes

Ever get the feeling you can't get out of bed, not even to create your work? I get that feeling all the time, instead its more than just being too lazy but its also a kind of slump you get in where nothing just seems right. You are at a stand still moment in your life where nothing seems right. Its a grey area of your life. You are trying to learn and explore but at the same time you don't want things to change, you kind of like them the way that they are. Here is  mini series to share that feeling.

Unconditional Zine

I've had the pleasure of going on a trip with my friends from Unconditional Arms, its been a real pleasure photographing for some of the best dudes. Images are shot with a verity of cameras including the Yashica Mat-124, 5D Mark 11, and a disposable camera. With these photos sitting around I felt they needed a home other than on my hard drive, also idle hands are the devil's play things. So I decided it would be good to pt together a zine of some of my favorite pictures during this tour. The following images are just some of the goodies in the zine, you can grab a copy of the zine here. Unconditional...

Southern California Tour

It's been a real pleasure working with the guys with Unconditional Arms. More than anything I would like to thank them for taking me on tour with them this March, its been a real blast and also quite an experience. A dream come true, really. We were able to take time in all the cities that we stopped in, made lots of friends, ate lots of burritos, and drink lots of coffee. On top of Unconditional Arms being solid dudes, they also rip hard. I am not just saying this because I've grown to like all the guys, but also because its true. I can't get tired of going to their shows and if you took a listen...

Unconditional photo shoot

Can't wait to say that I had the opportunity to photograph my friend Jeffery wright's band Unconditional Arms, not only is this a great opportunity for me but I am also honored that he asked me to shoot them. We started off shooting towards the hills in Oakland and ended up hiking up midway before the sun went down. Then we shot at a burger place and a neat coffee shop. Photographs were all taken with a 5D Mark II and either a 85mm f1.2 lens or a 24-105mm f4 lens. I choose to shoot with the 24-105 during group shots because I would be able to capture the whole group of guys with no problem....

Garbage Product

Man oh man was I have a hard time with this still life class. I cannot imagine that I past it with anything with a C. But on the bright side it's over and hopefully I never have to deal with this particular instructor again.  The class was a major bashing and the only time we learned was when the teacher actually let us play around with the lights. He just seemed distracted by other things and perhaps being a still life person doesn't help his situation. Anyways, for my final in that class which ended in December I could have shot anything I wanted but I did miss a couple classes. Therefore...

Is it time for spring yet?

Why not celebrate the coming spring by talking about floral designs I shot. Last year I had the pleasure of working with some of the most amazing people to put together a couple of amazing portraits for one of my classes. With their help I was able to find models, locations, props and the beautiful outfits you see these lovely ladies wearing. All the shots were meant to give off a feeling of a glamorous shot to take it's viewers on a whimsical journey. At first I had become overwhelmed by the idea with working on so many shots with such a big production. It was out of the box for me to shoot...
